Columbus alanas restaurant

Reservations preferred. Parking behind restaurant. Reported closed, Apr Open Wed-Sat 5pm. First Review by agp Went here for a special event. I spent 40 dollars on a salad and pasta dish even with out the lamb meatballs and cheeses. No thank you. By submitting this post you agree to HappyCow Terms. Alana's food is exceptional. She offers vegan menu options on Fridays, but does accommodate vegan requests any day of the week.

She's very creative, so if you're in for an adventure, try her vegan surprise. I was very surprised to see that there are no reviews of Alana's. The atmosphere was wonderful as we sat outside while the sun went down. My fiance and I spent three hours enjoying our meal. I must say, upon looking at the regular menu, one might not find a whole lot of vegetarian options; however, as a vegetarian, it is my favorite place in Columbus.

I would highly recommend a degustation for the serious diner. Alana's has a relaxed, warm atmosphere and food that exhibited a variety of flavors good that is. The menu, though not large more is not always better , does have enough to offer for any type of taste. The salmon was cooked just the way salmon should be cooked and a shrimp appetizer was quite good as well. The service was also very friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes that were offered.

They were even considerate of the fact we were in a bit of a hurry and appeared to give our order extra attention. Overall, the dining experience was quite enjoyable and I'd recommend Alana's easily! Wonderful food. The menu changes frequently so your sure to find somehting new every time. Alana experiments with flavors and capture the best in her ingredients.

A great place if your vegetarian or a meet eater. By far the best restaurant in Columbus. As far as anyone saying it takes a long time to get seated, I have never had to wait long and, usually am better accomodated than the average fine dining establishment.

Alana herself occasionally answers the phones and seats patrons. There is a wonderful selection of wines and the menu has suggestions for a wine which would go well with each dish.

Wonderful flavors and flavor mixtures from an outstanding chef. As a poor college student, I don't often indulge in pricier food options, but once in a while I'll save up my money and visit this place.

The servers are friendly and the food worth the price. The wine selection is pretty formidable too. All in all, I'd recommend it, especially to those looking to splurge and take a break from a tight budget once and a while! In the four months since I moved to Columbus from San Francisco I have been searching for a restaurant to call my favorite.

Columbus has a wealth of good restaurants, but they all Cameron Mitchells establishments especially suffer from a sameness and lack of imagination I can only attribute to the Midwesterners timid palette.

Finally, I have found Alanas: amazing food and wine thats the whole point! The poor reviews Ive read on Alanas are no surprise the restaurant is not for everyone. She even took a job as the kitchen manager for Gov.

She cooks in-home for parties of four to 10 people. You can book your own dinner party here. The weight of her reputation as a top-tier Columbus chef did the rest. While many parties simply opt to let Shock have free reign of the kitchen and make what she wants, guests are able to select the type of food and even the kind of experience they want.

With a good table: Excellent. We particularly enjoyed the desserts; even a year later we remember how good they were. For a special dinner, Alana's was a great place. The only drawback was the seating. We had a reservation, yet were seated right next to the noisy and busy kitchen; a vantage point from where we could also see numerous empty tables.

A couple that had come in at the same time, without a reservation, was seated in a much nicer table, which was perturbing. When we asked to be reseated, the staff was pleasant though, and the night proceeded as planned. Pros: Desserts more. I went to Alana's for my birthday and had a vegetarian degustation with wine pairings.

It was incredible. The wine pairings were exquisite. Alana really knows how to bring out the best in both the wine and food. Each course was just enough to stimulate your palette and by the end I was extremely satiated, in regard to taste, quantity and wine.

Alana helped to make my birthday perfect. The atmosphere was wonderful as we sat outside while the sun went down. My fiance and I spent three hours enjoying our meal.
